![]() ![]() You are also called "Captain" when you enter a vessel or building. In-Series Nickname: The AI addresses them as Survivor, likely to avoid giving them a canon name. The only thing you'll ever hear from him are grunts of pain or gasps for air. Heroic Mime: Doesn't utter a single word in the game.Breeding Stalkers to help hunt down salvage (and farm their precious teeth) is but one application. All fauna raised this way are permanently friendly towards you, even if released into the wild. Another, more permanent, method is to acquire an egg and hatch it in an Alien Containment. It's possible to tame Stalkers by feeding them prey, which can help gather resources.Body Horror: He ends up getting green glowing pustules and visible cracks on his hands due to his Kharaa infection. ![]() ![]() When the credits roll, he has survived countless predator attacks, cured a terrible alien plague, saved an ancient species and, through them, the whole planet from extinction, and made his way back home. Badass Normal: He's just a low-level ship maintenance worker thrown into a desperate fight for survival on an alien planet, but he quickly copes with the shock, sets himself up for the long haul and perseveres against all odds.Unknown Worlds staff have joked that the one concrete thing they know about his personality is that his favourite thing in the world is hair gel. Anime Hair: One of the few things we know about the protagonist is that he has a huge fauxhawk.Ambiguously Brown: Of the "future people are all one race" style.Almighty Janitor: Prior to the crash, Ryley was the "Non-Essential Systems Maintenance Chief", which sounds like a really fancy way of saying "Head Janitor".After the crash, he not only manages to outlast any of the other survivors but saves a world he never knew and manages to get off of it. Action Survivor: As a person who appears to be a lowly systems maintenance guy for an interstellar company, he probably spent his previous days sitting inside a spaceship and keeping its systems online. You are stranded on an alien planet and you have to find a way to adapt and survive. Similar to feeding Stalkers using Peepers. The sole survivor of the Aurora, aka the player character. Not 100% sure if it still works, but it used to be that if you were holding an Oculus fish, when the Reaper bit your character, he would eat the Oculus and not hurt you. You can take four to five "mouth fights" before your Prawn will go POP!įinally, try taking some Oculus fish with you (you can find them in the Jelly Shroom Caves), keep them on your hotbar. Only other thing that I can add from killing one recently, is that even if he grabs you in your Prawn (punch his stoopid face), then you're only going to take about a quarter damage on the suit before he lets you go and usually retreats. I find Reapers to be terrifying, even when I can hear them, so much of my safety and comfort in this game comes from that all around you sense you get from the audio cues.Īfter reading your story, I really would love to see the devs add subtitles for 'Danger' audio cues, maybe with a little directional arror glowing in red to give a rough indication of location around you. Wow, I have to say, that must be terrifying. I am not sure if the reaper will actually attack the beacon or what. I was thinking of put a beacon at each aproximate reaper levitathan location so this don't happens. We both didn't take on any damage even although the prawn suit was definitely hit. Luckly I had reinforced diving suit AND my prawn suit had reinforcement. Somehow I manage to get so close that it came. I mean I always knew there was one somewhere in the dune but I never saw it. Got into my prawn suit and ran away from the reaper leviathan. So I put my drill arm concern aside for now. My first warning was that prawn suit itself was suddenly shifted a few meter to the left. I didn't see the reaper leviathan coming. I open up the tablet to look what the material requirement was while looking at prawn inventory. I was out wandering in the west, dune biome I think, in my prawn suit looking for a second drill arm fragment (over 30 hours and yes I don't have it). ![]()
